Main Squeeze: Every local government in St. Lucie County is finalizing its budget this month

The September 30th deadline is here and every government in St. Lucie County is locking in its spending plan and tax rate for fiscal year 2027 📊.

St. Lucie County 📋:

  • 💰 Budget: $974,363,806 (up from $912,006,459)
  • 📉 Aggregate millage rate: 7.8341 mills (down from 7.9975)
  • ✅ Final hearing: September 17th

Fort Pierce 📋:

  • 💰 Budget: $73,263,742 (up from $67,787,211)
  • ➡️ Tax rate: 6.9 mills (unchanged)
  • ✅ Final hearing: September 15th

Port St. Lucie 📋:

  • 💰 Budget: $232,462,651 (up from $212,526,705)
  • 📉 Aggregate millage rate: 4.8750 mills (down from 4.9750)
  • 📅 Final hearing: 5 p.m. September 28th

St. Lucie Village 📋:

  • 💰 Budget: $1,976,425 (down from $2,098,005)
  • 📈 Tax rate: 2.06 mills (up from 2.0)
  • 📅 Final hearing: 5:15 p.m. September 22nd

Worth knowing: The millage rate is the amount assessed per $1,000 of your property's taxable value. St. Lucie County and Fort Pierce have already finalized their budgets. Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie Village still have final hearings coming up if you want to weigh in.
